In order to be an unarmed security guard in Nebraska, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or resident alien.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Cannot have any previous felony convictions.
  • Cannot have previous crimes involving illegal weapons.
  • Be required to have a Nebraska driver’s license.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be in good physical condition, depending on what the specific hiring agency requires.

Armed Security Guard Requirements 

If you want to be an armed security guard in Nebraska, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or resident alien.
  • Have a valid social security card.
  • Successfully pass a background check and drug testing.
  • Have a Nebraska driver’s license.
  • Be in good physical condition.
  • Cannot have any mental instability.
  • Cannot have any drug use or dependency.
  • Have no previous convictions or acts of fraud.
