In order to be an unarmed security guard in Maine, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or registered resident alien.
  • Cannot have punishable convictions of one or more in the last 5 years.
  • Submit to drug testing.
  • Submit to a criminal background check.
  • Have good moral character.
  • Also, have not committed any acts of fraud.
Armed Security Guard Requirements 

If you want to be an armed security guard in Maine, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or registered resident alien.
  • Cannot be a fugitive of the law.
  • Be asked to submit to drug testing.
  • Have a Maine driver’s license.
  • Be in good physical condition.
  • Complete and pass a criminal background check.
  • Have good moral character.
  • Have no mental instability.
  • Cannot have committed any acts of fraud.
  • Have no history of drug use or dependency.
  • Have no convictions in the last 5 years.
